ANAHEIM, CA, January 19, 2007: Mike and

this new Taylor GS off the display wall just before the

he played during last fall's midwest Taylor tour with Mike.

MK comments: "This will be the first Playground Slap gig in
something like 18 years. The Slap were always my favorite local band
in the 80's. Incredible creativity and innovation and funk and atmosphere.
Their prime dog Marcelo Radulovich collab'd with me on "Wooden
Smoke" and still strikes me as one of the most uncanny and creative
musicians I've ever encountered. I joined them at their rehearsal yesterday
and there will be steaming action at this gig -- the band is hot. Come
on over.
Find out more about the legendary Slap and their upcoming album (featuring
Yorz Trooley) at www.myspace.com/playgroundslap."

Day of The Cow [info by Paul Rose]
tape: audio exists, video exists
Paul Rose comments:
*Mike Keneally had hum (no pun) problems with his (new?) wireless
system during the 9/4 part, during which the rest of the band vamped
quietly for awhile. After the problem was fixed, Mike played keyboards
and guitar for a bit (with the band still vamping in a variety of styles)
and then Rick played a great, long solo just before the band finally
went back to conclude Lightning Roy. The problems with Mike's guitar
actually added several opportunities for the band to do wonderful improvisations
within the song.
**Joe Travers was getting married in the near future; part of the Car
Song included two separate snippets of "here comes the bride".
*** In celebration of the re-release of Hat., MKB took the audience
"way back", with a version of Quimby that included Mike &
Rick singing "Hat", a very short snippet of Day of the Cow,
"Thank you for buying Hat", "Hat".

comments: "Amazing weekend at the inaugural School of
Rock Festival in Asbury Park. You were only sixteen miles away and you
didn't come? Wow. I had a super-interesting band: Doug Lunn, Eric Slick,
Eric Svalgard on keyboards and Rich Stone on bass clarinet and tenor
sax. No rehearsal. You try playing the "Dolphins" medley with
no rehearsal. Hung out with lots of cool people -- Mickey (Dean) from
Ween invited me to go see a show with him but I couldn't because I was
about to sit in with Bustle In Your Hedgerow (featuring Dave from Ween
and Scott from Rana and both halves of the Benevento/Russo Duo, and
they all rock pretty damn ferociously).
Loved sitting in with Umphrey's McGee a couple of weeks ago too [no
details available -AA]. Loving the making of new friends and the making
of good music and the having of good times very much."

notes: Mike Keneally is the National Music Director of the Paul Green
School of Rock, and the Music Director of the new San Diego branch.
Since the beginning of April, MK has been training a group of 7 to 18
year-old musicians of varying experience to play the entire "Wall"
album. The three shows below are the public debut of Mike's first School
of Rock class. Mike will not be performing but he will present, conduct,
cajole and make a nuisance of himself all night. The musicians are fantastic
and will rock you ferociously.

personnel: MK, RM, DL, JT
setlist: tracks from hat. and Boil That Dust Speck, Skull Bubbles, Martha

tape:
photos: Douglas
O'Neill
Douglas O'Neill comments: "They played one long set with songs
from hat. and Boil That Dust Speck. The encore was Skull Bubbles and
Martha My Dear (Mike on the piano
and Joe on drums). My favorite moment was when Mike starts playing a
Zappa song (Black Page #1 [info by Dave Foster]) on the keyboards and
putting Joe through his paces on the drums."

SAN PEDRO, CA, July 5, 2007: The Mike
Keneally Band and its fans found a sweet new venue in
the Rosalie & Alva Performance Gallery, by day a dance
studio and by night an intimate, acoustically transparent
oasis where good music is celebrated. Alva's was recommended
to Mike by our über-drummer pal Marco Minnemann.
There's only seating for 60 people, so a very memorable
night is virtually guaranteed. MKB hopes to perform there
again some time soon.

GELDERN, GERMANY, August 18, 2007: Mike's
first European solo concert was presented, fittingly,
at the debut of Burkhard Hennen's Offside Open International
New Music Festival, in a delightful outdoor summer environment.
The 70-minute performance saw Mike employing guitars and
piano, sometimes simultaneously. In addition to a few
Keneally catalog gems not often played, Mike previewed
some music from his upcoming Scambot project. Thanks to
Co de Kloet and NPS' Studio 6 radio for inviting Mike
to play. (photo by Pieter van Hoogdalem)
September 9 2007 - Acoustic Alliance, Brick By Brick, San Diego
CA
(The Acoustic Alliance Series gathers 12 songwriters who share the stage
and trade the spotlight to perform three of their best songs in the
round, presented in a candlelit "storyteller" format.)

September 22 2007 - Rosalie and Alva Performance Gallery, San Pedro
CA
personnel: MK, RM, DL, MM
setlist: Room (First time quartet performance of the TUWP tune), Nonkerchunk,
Selfish Otter, Hallmark (a new song from Scambot with Mike on piano),
Doug Lunn Piano Solo > Nefertiti (Wayne Shorter), In a Silent Way
(Joe Zawinul) (beautiful bass solo by Doug Lunn), Ankle Bracelet
Mike goofing on the piano (singing the Mike Keneally Band song as the
others came back on stage; Sabre Dance (Khachaturian)), Dolphins, Spoon
Guy (with vocals), Uglytown, Snow Cow
Performing Miracles, Improv -- I'm All Ears, Top of Stove Melting
Rosemary Girl [info by Douglas O'Neill]
tape: audio exists
photos: here
MK comments: "The piano improv at the beginning of the second
set turned into Sabre Dance by Khachaturian -- Stravinsky's Firebird
Suite, I Feel Pretty from West Side Story and Black Page # 1 all got
inserted into improvs in the second set too. There was a huge improv
between Miracles and Stove which was probably a song to itself -- for
set list purposes let's say it was called "Improv -- I'm All Ears.""
Douglas O'Neill comments: "One of Mike's SOR students, Austin,
was invited to the stage to play a solo during one of the songs."

SAN PEDRO, CA, September 22, 2007: During
the sound check before their sold-out concert at the intimate
Alva's, Mike and the band ran through a new band arrangement
of "Room," from his 2004 orchestral album The
Universe Will Provide. A streaming movie of the rehearsal
is here,
if you please. The band also premiered a new song, "Hallmark,"
from Mike's upcoming album project, Scambot, with Mike on
grand piano. You gotta be there next time Mike Keneally
Band plays Alva's; seriously.

"Marqueson's Chicken," "We Are Not Alone," "What's
New In Baltimore" and "Moggio" and constructed an hour-long
free-form duet fantasia around them, which was exhilarating as hell."

admit")

WESTWOOD, CA, November 1, 2007: Heralded
by hundreds of chanting, moshing devotees, Mike Keneally
and Bryan Beller performed as half of the mythical, somewhat
satirical, speedmetal juggernaut Dëthkløk at
UCLA's Ackerman Ballroom. The live band, also consisting
of creator/guitarist/lead vocalist Brendon Small and drummer
Gene Hoglan, performed in perfect sync with their animated
counterparts in this 52-minute high-tech shredfest that
hurls the Cartoon Network Adult Swim's Metalocalypse show
at the metal-hungry masses.
